No longer shielded by puffy down coats, The News caught several people looking stylish this week.
“It’s just one of those days,” Faraz Manjiyani, a freshman philosophy major, said. “It’s a nice day out, so I felt like dressing kind of springy.”
Manjiyani was walking toward Snell Library in a grey blazer, orange bow tie and orange pocket square. He tucked in his two-tone blue button-up and worse orange matching laces in his brown leather dress shoes – a dressed-up look inspired by no special occassion other than the 50-degree weather.
Peizhao Sun, a sophomore communications major, donned green fitted pants, a creme-yellow shoes, and a mustard backpack tossed over the shoulder with a black vest and a white, subtly-patterned button-up in AfterHours on Wednesay. He also wore a geometric, silvery statement necklace he found at a Brooklyn flea market.
“My style is the love child of street and prep, raised by GQ,” he said.
As for Sun’s spring style, he said that it’s all about color choice.
“My spring style is color-inspired and can be summed by one quote: ‘Florals? For Spring? Groundbreaking,’” he said. “I have a lot of floral for this spring.”
Sun was referring to a quote said in the 2006 movie, “The Devil Wears Prada,” which features cut-throat fashion editor, Miranda Priestly, played by Meryl Streep.
“The clothes I’m wearing are from Uniqlo and Gap. I normally shop at Topman and Zara,” he said.
Going for more sweet-heart rocker and artsy looks, Leslie Fowle, a fourth-year English and journalism major, wore a black leather jacket on top of a salmon, flower-knit lace dress and black sneakers. She also carried a matching salmon pink backpack with bright, golden zippers and details.
She was pictured walking out of International Village with Mackenzie Nichols, a middler journalism and music industry major, who wore vibrant red shoes composed of circular shapes, a black beanie, and a red jacket with horses printed across.
